Outdoor Advertising Association of America Archives: Association Organization category, 1885-2001 and undated.

The Association Organization category documents the organizational structure of the OAAA, from its management down through its various departments and committees. Even though the Association underwent several reorganizations during its history, its basic structure has remained fairly constant. The OAAA was organized as a corporation, with a president and key officers elected from the Association membership. Prominent officers include Frank Cawl, Karl Ghaster, and Walter Holan. A Chairman's Advisory Committee assisted the Association leadership. Below that, the OAAA followed a dual organizational structure in which functions and activities determined the range of departmental divisions, and each division was overseen by an administrative committee which carried the same name as the division or department. Key divisions within the Association include the Public Policy, Research and Engineering, Business Development, and Plant Development divisions.
